FIXES: *Charm, Hold, and Web now work properly *ESC no longer exits the game *You are prompted to save games now, so that you don't accidentally do it * IT'S WHIP changed to ITS WHIP - the misspelling from the original game is corrected * Stats are now properly raised and lowered by reading runes on thrones. They can reach 16, and cannot go below 3. Charisma also properly raises now. Additions to v1.04 It always seems to be about a year between updates, so here we go again. FIXES: *Detect Traps spell should now display properly *More correct percent chance of cobwebs in chests *Refuse should be worth very little gold by default *Treasure after battles should now be more appropriate to monster level *Treasure occurs slightly less often *Gold cashed for experience at the inn cannot exceed the limit for the next level *Ring of Regeneration should only heal during major events *Using the Scroll of Rescue removes your current gold on activation Additions to v1.03 Wow! It's been over a year since my last update!. Thank you to all who emailed bug reports. Several are fixed in this release FIXES: *You actually GET the gold you are awarded for completing the colored block puzzle *Hostile swords no longer give you a sword... *STAYing in location will appropriately spawn events. *Post-monster encounters now display the inn when they should *Treasure chests now give items too *Getting zapped now says "YOU SUFFER" instead of "YOU UFFER" :P *CHARM spell actually works correctly now Additions to v1.02 FIXES: *Location events (thrones, fountains) were not triggering off of 'stay' events due to a prior fix. Should be remedied now! Additions to v1.01 (Special thanks to Pete, who runs a great Telengard nostalgia site at http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/telengard/ He pointed out several issues in the previous version that I've remedied here) These fixes make the game lots more fun - the previous horrible imbalance (too many monsters, not enough goodies) is much better now. FIXES: *Post-monster encounters cannot result in another monster encounter *Treasure was not appearing frequently enough *Inn names were randomized - but they are actually specific to location. The Worthy Meade Inn is back *Saving while in the dungeon caused you to be reset to the starting location. Fixed *Light spell was not doing a random avoidance of Undead creatures. Fixed *Astral Walk was broken. Fixed *Hold, Charm, and Web spells did not auto-flee when no input (or bad input) was entered *Fleeing into a wall (no movement) got you out of a monster encounter. Now it's back to 'Rooted to the spot' *Special functions (store character, drink potion, recall, etc.) now mapped to Function keys instead of Alphanumerics If you never played the original Telengard for the Commodore 64, it's likely that this game is not for you. The intent of this project is to replicate the experience of playing the original C64 version of Telengard, complete with accurate sights and sounds, as closely as possible (with a few minor tweaks) Basically, I wanted to play Telengard with as little hassle as possible, and as close to what I remember as I can get. Hopefully this appeals to you, too! If you loved the original, hopefully you will find a lot to love here as well. The only changes that have been made to the basic game are as follows : *Spelling corrections ('Breaths' to 'Breathes', for instance) *Increased speed in navigation (the dungeon redraws quickly) Pacing for encounters remains the same. *The bottom right of the screen constantly reminds you of the level you are currently on *Your character files are NOT deleted if you die! *'DEMO' mode is not present.
